Due to being rich in fibre this breakfast can help in weight loss and management because it improves metabolism and helps in better absorption of minerals by the gut. There’s an amount that is too much, because in combination with all the other foods that you eat that, it’s all too much. That is true for all foods.
Stop looking for “good” foods. Stop looking for “bad” foods. There are no magic foods. There are no evil foods.
It’s about all the food that you eat, and about how much of it that you eat.
It’s never about one food.
One food will not help you lose weight, and one food will not stop you from losing weight unless you eat too much of it.

Cream of wheat is low in calories and contains many micronutrients. It also contains iron which is important for people who are vegans, since it is hard to get from vegan diets. It depends on what you are combining the cream of wheat with. Calculate the calories and make sure to stay in a calorie deficit when eating cream of wheat so you can lose weight. Other than that I do not see any reason why you should not include it in your diet.

I am going to assume you are talking about the branded cereal Cream of Wheat (CoW), but my answer is valid for any other brand of wheat porridge, or for homemade wheat porridge.
First of all, your wording -- "other types of oatmeal" -- implies CoW is a type of oatmeal.
CoW is made from wheat, oatmeal is made from oats; two different grains.
Most CoW manufactured and consumed is without the bran (Original version) from the wheat grains, in other words, it is almost like eating white bread -- [almost] zero fiber. Aside from the plain one, there are many flavored versions, which not only do not have the bran, they also have lots of added junk: loads of sugar, artificial flavors, and some have partially hydrogenated fat.
CoW does make a Whole Grain version, from which the bran has not been removed.
The wheat in CoW is very finely ground. The finer a grain has been ground, the higher its GI (glycemic index). In other words, it will be converted to blood sugar at a more rapid rate. That's the reason it is far better to eat intact or cracked grains rather than products made from grain flour such as bread and boxed cereals.
If you want to eat wheat porridge, get cracked wheat instead of powdered. One of the best tasting porridge you will ever eat is Bob's Red Mill Cracked Wheat - Page on bobsredmill.com (get the Cracked Rye for an even more amazing robust nutty taste).
Now that we have established most CoW is junk, except for the Whole Grain variety, and even it is not that good (because it is finely pulverized), it comes down to what's better as a grain to eat, wheat or oats.
Before getting into that, what I said about wheat applies to oats. Get unflavored, non-sugared, non-powdered versions of oats. Old-fashioned rolled oats, Scottish oatmeal, or steel-cut oats (similar to cracked wheat). Go crazy here: Page on bobsredmill.com
In my opinion, oats are better from a nutritional point of view. A lot more studies have been done on oats than on wheat. Oats have been shown to reduce cholesterol, decrease blood sugar, and decrease risk of heart disease. They do this using soluble fiber, one of the two types of fiber, the other being insoluble fiber. In the US, oat products are allowed by the FDA to place a statement on their package saying 3 g of soluble fiber may reduce the risk of heart disease. One serving of oatmeal contains 2-3 g of soluble fiber.
Oats' ratio of soluble to insoluble fiber ranges from 1:1 to 1:2, whereas wheat's ranges from 1:3 to 1:4. Overall fiber content is nearly the same between the two grains, around 10-12% by mass. In other words, oats contain 1.5 to 2.5 times the soluble fiber of wheat.
Oats contain more protein than wheat. Oats range from 14 to 17%, wheat comes in at 10 to 13%. That's another win for oats.
There is some evidence that modern wheat has a negative effect on blood sugar and blood lipids relative to ancient varieties of wheat such spelt, Kamut®, and farro, which are held to be nutritionally superior. You can find those on Bob's Red Mill as well.
Even better than oatmeal is eating oat bran, which is just the outer covering of the oat grain. It contains a higher ratio of fiber and protein and lower ratio of starch relative to whole oats.
In conclusion: oat bran > oatmeal > Whole Grain CoW >>> Original CoW >>> flavored CoW.
Another grain that has a high ratio of soluble fiber and protein, even more so than oats, is barley, and it tastes amazing in my opinion, better than oats. You can find it on Bob's Red Mill and Amazon.

Our South Indian foods are rice & rice based foods like Idly, Dosai, puttu, Appam, Iddiappam,Kolukattai. You will notice that all these foods are steamed & very healthy. Though Dosai is pan fried original Dosai is what we call now as Kaldosai. Kaldosai is a very tasty thick Dosai where very little oil is used & is pan fried in a tawa covered with a lid, so it is partly cooked by steam also.

To lose fat and improve physique, you need to combine eating a better diet with exercise. You can't target your fat loss, but you can target your muscle gain. More muscles (I'm not talking about getting freaking huge. Fit is different than MASSIVE) and less fat = great physique.
Lift weights. Do cardio. Eat less. These are the keys to health. Activity is good for a lot of things -- better endurance, improved resistance to diseases, stronger bones, better mental and emotional health. Looking fit helps, but it's one of the smallest things you'll accomplish by getting fit.

Always add your food to your meals that you are eating since childhood, believe me, it will give you immense satisfaction. (generate hunger-satisfying hormone in the body ie. leptin)
Try to work on “portion size” (gives you an idea of your appetite and helps you to maintain yourself)
Exercise regularly whether it be cardio, aerobics or whatever helps you to boost u (helps to maintain energy balance)

Stop eating foods with wheat in them. Simple as that.
Of course, you need to learn what ingredients foods are made from. If you cook for yourself or your family, you did learn that. If you buy packaged food, you need to learn what’s in those packaged foods.
You understand that humans are not evlved to eat grain, right? In anthropology class, I learned that hunter gatherer band members eat several meals with grain per year. They typically go several months in a row eating no grain whatsoever. And none of the grains they do eat a few times per year are wheat.
You can go all the way to low carb by eating meat and low carb vegetables. Or you can move closer to balanced macros (tuned to gain fat) by using meat substitutes. Dairy, eggs, legumes, tree nuts. Or vegetable substitutes. Those are generally called fruits.
Even if you wish to continue eating grains, there are plenty of them other than wheat. Wheat, corn/maize and rice may be the most popular grains but they are not the only ones. Some grains aren’t even members of the grass family. Quinoa, amaranth and buckwheat are not cereal crops.

I wasn’t going to answer this but the other three answers are really dumb. There is one way to lose weight. Eat less than you burn off. This is called a calorie deficit. Other than the KETO diet. Every other diet is bullshit, and focuses on this principal.
To find your calorie deficit: ([body weight] x 15) - 300
eat this amount of calories everyday for a few weeks, if you don't see a change, eat 100–200 less for a few weeks, and keep repeating until you do see a change. Once you see a change just stay eating this many calories until you have your desired weight. After that, you can increase calories by 300–400 and eat that to maintain current weight.
increase your protein intake without eating lots of calories
cut out refined sugar and cut back on simple carbs (not complex carbs)
take vitamins that help with digestive system and blood flow
While doing this, you should be lifting weights as much as possible… and doing light cardio 2–3 days a week. Doing shit loads of cardio doesn’t help past a certain point, but you can do it if you want.
Remember if you want to eat more, workout more. Stay super strict and count every little calorie you eat for the first few weeks, just to get an idea of how much food you can eat in a day.

Why are wheat products demonised in weight loss?
I think it has alot to do with refined carbs and the products that are made using wheat. Alot can be unhealthy, although I am aware of many healthier ways of using it, even though I don't eat it myself. Think doughnuts,pizza, pasta, cakes and biscuits which can all be rather unhealthy when lots of sugar, salt and fat is used.
We all process food differently, and for some people eating wheat can cause their blood sugar to spike, which in some people may cause weight gain over periods of time. Wheat can also cause bloating, which can be detrimental to the efforts put in to exercise because it can cause discomfort and some people believe it to be unsightly.
Wheat can also cause people to feel drowsy/sleepy and heavy which can be detrimental to productivity. We all have different tastes too, I think because of the things I mentioned above, it's easier to cut back or eliminate wheat and replace it with more protein or a different carb of choice. As with many things in society and branding, some things get scrutinized, and therefore demonised as more people recognise the detriment to them personally or brands play on it to make money.
Wheat is not always bad, my parents and grandparents ate wheat regularly, in many forms, and were active and all remained healthy and at appropriate weight for their age and size.
It's all about how you use it, and how active you are , unless you are intolerant! :)

If it aids the individual in creating a caloric deficit, then yes.
This goes for any food. Likewise, as long as a food does not cause you to go out of a caloric deficit, it is fine for weight loss.
To prevent going on a rant on all the ridiculous weight loss and dieting strategies so many continue to use I will just list all the general things one must focus on if they wish to lose weight.
Eat more whole foods and minimize fast/highly processed foods
Drink more water and minimize (or preferably eliminate) sugary beverages
Eat more fruits and vegetables, preferably a serving before each meal
Practice portion control at each meal
Prioritize protein and fiber intake
Aim to work on the above stated areas in a slow, gradual way. In other words do not try to alter your diet all at once, but rather focus on no more than 1–2 of the 5 areas at a time and keep the changes small and sustainable.
DO NOT follow any strategy that you cannot see yourself following long-term, i.e, for the rest of your life. Successful long-term weight loss is achieved through creating a new, healthier lifestyle which promotes a healthier body weight NOT through quick fixes, gimmicks, fad diets, etc which produce quick, short-term results at best (and most of the time not even that).

Dieting for weight loss is not depended on any particular food item you can literally have anything and still lose weight if you are eating less calories than what your body requires. What will happen if I eat just wheat in a month? Will it help to lose my weight?
Weight gain or not is just overall calories and exercise. The only thing you will do by only eating that for a month is deprive your body of other nutrients (which could wind up inhibiting weight loss in itself) not found in wheat (or that it has too little of), and mess up your overall health. Not to mention that it sounds like a dull, boring, easy to get sick of, make yourself unhappy unnecessarily, kind of diet…. You need to eat a variety of things, just in overall amounts that aren’t too much or too little (yes, too little can slow weight loss as well, or lead to loss of non fat stuff you don’t want to loose).

What is it exactly about steel cut oats that makes it the healthiest option to purchase from all the types of oats?
They aren’t necessarily. Both steel cut oats and rolled oats are made from the same oat groat. Having worked in one of the largest oat mills in the US and Canada I can tell you that you are working with different presentations of the same thing. The difference is chunks vs flattened or rolled. That’s it. Steel cut are cut into pieces and are more coarse, while rolled oats are drum rolled. No big ‘extra processing’ step. Only a difference in presentation. Serving size may be different due to density but they are not nutritionally different on a weight to weight basis.
The difference arises from the uniformity of the cooking preparation for consumption. If you under-cook your steel cut grits. you’ll not digest the entire piece. Not good. Also, because chunks digest slower, the absorbtion is slower. This is good if you want or need to modulate your uptake of sugar/starch & other nutrients, but bad if you don’t get it cooked right and they pass through the gut undigested. Rolled oats are more easily prepared and if you can boil water for a minute, presto !, you’re there. There is a preference in texture for some for the cut groat vs the more prevalent rolled versions.
I know you’ve seen some info from vendors on steel vs rolled oats but they are the same oat groat only one is milled/cut into a coarse grit and the other drum rolled into a thick flake. Any nutritional differences, as you would expect, are insignificant. As far as glycemic index goes, it is relative to particle size which should be expected but if the grits are cooked throughout, they should not be different from old fashioned rolled.

No. Cream of wheat is one of the worst refined carbohydrates you can think of. In keto diet, carbohydrates is very limited, to say 15g-40g a day. The source of carbohydrate must be a real complex carb and of low density, such as those from green vegetables and nuts. So cream of wheat is a definite no. Anything from grain is a no. But unless you test your blood sugar or insulin after the specific good item, you won't know for sure.

Pay attention to the key words: oat, wheat, grits. They are all a form of processed grains to create a hot breakfast cereal from dried grains. Each basic serving is about 75–120 calories, half are carbohydrates 25–75 g. The best versions that are the least processed will have lots of natural fiber, and can help glucose levels even though they are carb heavy. The more processed (removing the husk, bran or germ, endosperm) the grain is rendered mostly as carbohydrates. It is very starchy and has less nutrient value plus gluten than other whole grain cereals.

Grits are made from corn, white, yellow or rainbow colored. It can be ground in a variety of fineness from chunky to super fine. In other countries it is served as polenta or semolina de maiz. Grits can also be used like corn meal in baking and if finely ground as flour.

Otherwise most of the more refined grains have not much taste short of paste! Oats offer more taste naturally and can be gluten-free while the wheat is not. There are hundreds of other grains that can be found and made into cereals. In some Asian countries they eat Congee, a soupy rice cereal, or other rice based cereals.
There are other grains like Kamut, amaranth, groats, tabouli (wheat), quinoa, millet, and many more that can be cooked for cereals. These are often found at natural foods stores or some are now represented (like Bob’s Red Mill products) in mainstream grocery stores.
